"Cowgirl Helen II" second of three 20 minute model pose portraits

Here is the second portrait of Helen in her cowboy hat.  This one is more impressionistic with the values all towards the middle.  These are also called "mudheads"  where you place a face in shadow with a strong backlight.  This leaves you with a "bright" shadow and fewer values.  Popularized in the Cape Cod School of painters where they often painted models on the beach in full sun.
