Having a coffee break in Honolulu while waiting for the juror to pick my two little babies or not. Either way I am going to be here all afternoon helping to hang the show at Pauahi Tower. Found you can learn a lot when hanging these shows. All about framing, and layout design etc. It's a tough job picking what paintings and then deciding where they will go.
Last night went to a great art charity event at Hulas here in Waikiki. It was called Art For Equality and had a great nightclub vibe. Live performances and dj's, with a silent auction and a chance to meet the artists. Our painter friend Douglas Simonson was there with some great paintings and drawings. Wish I had some paintings in this show it was a lot of fun. Hopefully it will be an annual event.
Here is one of the two portraits of Alea one of our Friday models at Snowden Hodges drawing group. I have gotten so much out of that group I have to write more about it someday.
